There’s plenty to do with the kids in the wheatbelt! Bouncy pillows, The Jam Patch Nature reserve with walk trails, salt lakes for magic family photos, award winning Skateparks, Geocache locations and kick a footy on the very footy field Brownlow Medalist Nat Fyfe trained on in his youth!

Include a history tour that links Lake Grace to the Australian $20 note. (Book tour via phone located outside AIM Hospital building).

Nature

Listed as one of the top 34 biodiversity hotspots in the world, natural attractions are abundant throughout the Shire. From spectacular granite outcrops, vast sparkling salt lakes, unique and beautiful flora and fauna and balsite white cliffs and dams.

Wildflower season is generally from August - November each year depending on the season. Call into the Visitor Centre for wildflower hotspot updates.

Overnighter itinerary

Get a taste of the wheatbelt travelling to our Shire with our suggested itinerary. It is recommended you call the Visitor Centre prior your trip so bookings can be made if needed.

7.30am Perth - Lake Grace (350km) Head south-east through the wheatbelt though our neighbouring Wooly Way towns; Williams, Arthur River, Wagin, and Dumbleyoung. Lots to things to see and do on the way.

12ish Lake Grace - Lunch at local cafe Caffe Arjos. Call into Lake Grace Visitor Centre for maps, directions and friendly chats. Brochures available on verandah on weekends

2-4pm - Drive 19km north onto Lake Grace Kulin Road to The Jam Patch. A Nature Reserve with walking trails, picnic areas, flora and fauna.

4-6pm - Call into Walkers Hill Winery for a late afternoon tea/ wine tasting

6pm - Check into accommodation in Lake Grace.

7 - 9pm - Dinner options depending on day of the week. Contact the Visitor Centre for assistance.

8am - Enjoy a country breakfast and freshly ground coffee at Rosies Cafe

9-12noon - Head west 50km to Newdegate to discover the Public Silo Art and unwind at the Award Winning Skatepark Precinct.

12 - 1pm - Lunch at the Newdegate Hotel or drive back to Lake Grace. Refuel and grab a bite to eat at Liberty Roadhouse before heading home to Perth for 6pm.
